Middlemore Foundation

Middlemore Foundation supports one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s busiest maternity hospitals. Each year, Middlemore Hospital welcomes around 10,000 babies and manages the majority of complex and high-risk births across the Auckland region.

To help ensure every newborn receives safe, stabilising care from the moment they enter the world, the hospital identified an urgent need for 40 new baby warmers. Four Winds was proud to fund 10 of these vital pieces of equipment.

Baby warmers play a critical role in supporting newborns, particularly premature and low-birthweight infants who are highly vulnerable to heat loss. They provide thermal stability, oxygen support, and immediate monitoring during the crucial first moments of life. Maintaining a stable body temperature is essential for survival, reducing complications, and supporting healthy development. The new warmers also offer enhanced access for clinical teams, integrated resuscitation capabilities, and reduced noise and light exposure, improving both clinical efficiency and family-centred care.
