Surf Life Saving Northern Region

Over the past year, Four Winds has supported two key roles at Surf Life Saving Northern Region. This support has been vital to the provision of SLSNR’s essential service delivery to their 18 member clubs and the communities they serve.  SLSNR’s clubs cover from the Far North club in Ahipara to Raglan Beach.

Over the 2025/26 season, approximately 1,898 surf lifeguards and patrol supporters provided over 108,000 hours of service in the region with 332 rescues, 471 assists and engaged over 174,000 members of the public through preventative actions.  Surf lifeguards also provided beach education to over 10,000 children during this period ensuring that our children are safer while enjoying our beaches.

Four Winds Foundation support has been crucial in supporting SLSNR to achieve success in all areas of its strategic plan and ensures that the region has a well-educated community participating in active recreation on our coastlines. Four Winds support has enabled SLSNR to educate children and to provide maximum surf lifeguard patrol hours throughout the summer season.

Michael Barker, SLSNR’s Chairperson says, “that without Four Winds ongoing support we would not be able to achieve our vision that “No one drowns at the beach in Aotearoa New Zealand””.

Four Winds have also supported individual clubs in Auckland and other areas of NZ where we have venues for needs such as rescue equipment, nippers’ equipment, event costs and administration costs.  Four Winds are proud to be able to provide this support to keep NZer’s safe at our beaches.
